A French Treasure found in Texas
By Sylvia Cruz Smith

Floche Perle' A La Cle', LV Paris, France & Fils et Cotons LV Paris France

I am in the process of redesigning my Art Studio and have been looking for specific pieces.  This morning I went to a nearby Flea Market and found many things to add to my current collection. A French Sewing Treasure! Six boxes of Vintage Thread and Floss .Floche Perle' A La Cle', LV Paris, France & Fils et Cotons LV Paris France. All for only $15 and in excellent Condition. The surrounding Vintage Tulle skirts, Curtains, and Wedding Veil  purchased from a wonderful lady named Fifi at Bussey's Flea market.

I found this wonderful collection of stuff from the same local flea market (Bussey's located in Schertz, TX ).  My favorite vendor is a creative lady and artist named FIFI. She has such an imagination with so many ideas and amazing talent. I love spending time talking to her.

This Vintage Pillow Pattern was in excellent condition and now sits in my art room.

Altered Couture Magazine Slip into Sleepwear

Altered Couture Magazine Challenge
Slip into Sleepwear
Submitted for Review

Designed by: Sylvia Cruz Smith Cibolo Texas

I purchased this two piece vintage gown and robe set from a local thrift shop. These pieces had been hanging in my art room for a couple of years and I was just waiting for the right time work with them. After cutting, pinning, unstitching, stitching and adding some final details my design was complete. There were so many design options in my head so I decided on a two piece versatile dress. It can be worn in a casual setting, but would also make a fun evening dress. I submitted it to Altered Couture last week.

Victorian Lace Inspired Box by Sylvia Smith A Pink Heaven

I made this little box to store notes in my offfice. My Inspiration came from my love for Victorian Designs. The base is a candy tin covered in beautiful assorted papers and sheet music. The pink rose on the lower end I created from a flower recipe. Other items used include Feathers, butterfly, paper rose, flowers, vintage lace, vintage earrings, broken jewerly pieces and vintage buttons. On the bottom of my project I posted my favorite quote " Do not follow where the path might lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail" ~ Emerson~

Hand Shaped Business Card Holder Designed 4/29/12

My dear friend Chis from New Braunfels, Tx gave me a wooden shaped hand. She is such an inspirational and creative lady and has had many publications for her amazing work.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make with it so I began covering it with one of my favorite pink vintage papers. I love designing and creating beautiful unique pieces. I found the inspiration to design my  business card holder from my passion for drawing and designing Wedding  & Ball gowns and my love for incorporating laces, fabrics, roses, pearls, papers, and the color pink into my designs.
